   Spring Fling Turkey Hunt
For the second year in a row the Mudbrook Boys did a group spring turkey hunt referred to as the Spring Fling. It requires any interested hunter to submit their turkey application in December as part of the group. Then everyone gets a tag for the same season. Others also purchase bonus tags for the later turkey seasons as well. The 2025 Spring Fling group included Monkey, Pedro, Recon Ronnie, Chakka, Lefty and Black Clover. It was an incredible week of turkey hunting and fun which led into unprecedented success for the seasons that followed. Below are photos from all of the Mudbrook turkey kills...except for Barnacle who hunted by himself and didn't have anyone to take a picture of him with his Tom.

2025 Bow Hunting - Before Gun Season
First Blood - Odie
Barnacle's son Odie flew in from California for Opening Weekend and killed this nice doe on the first night. That is getting done!!
Summer Time Fun
The highlight of the summer, for sure, was the Hole In One that Bee Sting got while he & Pedro were playing golf on July 31.
Poison & Pedro competed in the Flaters Triathalon
Drone Boy & Chakka yuk it up during a golf outing
Pedro & Chakka share a father/son moment
Bee Sting kept his hot streak going by taking down this nice 8 pointer on October 26 at Little Buck Run. It was one year to the day that he shot his buck the previous year...what consistency!!
For the second year in a row Monkey killed a Mudbrook buck with his bow. This 8 pointer went down at the Honey Hole on November 9th.
Paco was just lounging around at Lucky's Pine on November 17th when this bruiser came along following a doe and a smaller buck. What a dandy!
The "Old Man" of the HHC, Barnacle, showed once again that he is still has what it takes. He dropped this dandy 10 pointer the boys had named "Octo-Ten" from the Honey Hole stand on November 6th. His first 10 pointer ever...SWEET!!
2025 Gun Hunting Season
The Year of Bullwinkle
After four years of pictures and videos Pedro got lucky and took down Bullwinkle on November 25th from the Scrape Road stand. It was exactly one month to the day after seeing him twice on the night of October 25th from the same stand. What a magical night it turned out to be.
On the same night Pedro killed Bullwinkle is son Chakka dropped this 8 pointer while on an "adventure hunt" that included a canoe ride, a hike through wet marsh grass, and crossing swamp islands. What a hunt!!
Chakka began his doe reduction plan on November 29th when he downed this cow in the swamp by Rabbit Hill. He's just getting started!
This was the wild and crazy group that helped Pedro & Chakka celebrate their buck killing "double". What an amazing and fun night with family and new friends!
Young college student Jayhawk was able to spend a day in Mudbrook during gun season and killed this doe at the Honey Hole on November 29th...the second "double" of the week.
This was the Gun Season Opening Night gang...a little smaller than normal but still a really great time. From front left and clockwise: Monkey, Recon Ronnie, Poison, Bee Sting, and newcomer Johnny Moonshine. Pedro was taking the picture.
2025 Bow Hunting - After Gun Season
Chakka On A Mission
Chakka's one man doe management assault continued on December 18th when he dropped this hefty beast at The Bank stand.
Chakka struck again on December 23rd by taking down another beautiful doe from the Honey Hole stand. His friend Tyler from UW-Madison joined the fun.
On a perfect New Years Eve LoLo took her very first deer ever while sitting on stand by herself. What a great accomplishment and what a fun way to bring in the new year. This deer made it back to the Church just before midnight where Pedro, Chakka & LoLo had celebration shots of Fireball with Monkey via FaceTime. Epic!
With the season winding down and Pedro wanting to extend a years long streak of shooting at least one deer with his bow, he dropped this deer affectionately named "Nubwinkle" from The Gate stand on New Years Day. For reasons unknown the other pictures didn't turn out.
It was only appropriate that Chakka be the one to kill the last deer of the 2025 season. He was hoping for another doe but with a buck tag still in hand he decided this Three Point Buck would be good eating so he let his arrow fly. He certainly had a late season full of venison!
