Paco Started The 2005 Season Off With A Bang When He Downed This Dandy Bear The Wednesday Before Opening Day For Deer
Friday, September 16
The opening weekend of bow season 2005 finally arrived and the boys of the Highbanks Hunting Club were once again eager and excited to get the festivities underway. It would be year number two of owning their church / clubhouse so the boys decided it was time to add an important addition to the building...a deck! Paco invited some of his family members up to hunt for the weekend and also encouraged them to bring power drills along. But first...there was fun to be had! The Friday before opening day is always a day to play golf and have a big venison feast and 2005 was no different. Everyone arrived in Mudbrook around noon and then headed out to play 18 holes of golf. The weather was perfect and the golf was hilarious (as always!). Paco and Pedro got teamed up together and dominated the event...winning easily! After golf it was back to the church for lots of venison and cameraderie. Everyone had a great time and was excited for opening day!

The Deck
After waking up on Saturday morning work quickly began on the new deck. Barnacle had drawn up some plans and had a process in mind for assembly. With everyone working together the deck was done by noon...an amazing feat! The afternoon was spent lounging on the new addition, tossing a football, and preparing gear for the first hunt of 2005. It must be noted that it was Paco's nephews "The Outlaw's Jesse & James" who made the largest contribution to the deck project. These guys new exactly what they were doing and didn't waste anytime getting things done. The Highbanks Hunting Club always has room for these boys whenever they want to come and visit.
